Should we book with our photographer?

There’s probably as many ways of organizing your wedding as there is ways for a photographer to document it. I don’t believe in setting too strict and hard rules, instead I like to take more of a documentary approach and capture the day where YOU as the couple is in focus. Do you want to spend your day sipping drinks on the beach after the ceremony? Maybe you’ve booked a tattoo-artist to commemorate the moment, or maybe you just want to spend your day in whichever way you most enjoy….. I’m all for it!

I like to structure my wedding days (and prizes) based on the time I’ll be shooting for you. For many couples half a day is a really good value alternative. I’ll be with you for about 5 hours, in that time we’ll prioritize the preparations, the ceremony itself and couples portraits(or alternative fun activities).

The next step up is a full day. Starting with the prep and ending at the reception in the evening. A great solution if you wan’t to capture more of the day, atmosphere, guests & location. This would be around 8-9H. Ex 10.00-19.00.

The fully maxed out alternative is a full day+ all the speeches/ reception and dancefloor coverage. This could also be a full weekend if it’s a destination wedding. Typically a 12H+ day.

So how do we decide on what’s right for us?

Online meeting

It starts with us booking a meeting and talking face to face via Zoom/facetime etc and getting to know eachother and deciding on how long you want me to be at your disposal. After this meeting I’ll send you a formal proposal for my services.

The wedding day

You’ve accepted the proposal, and now the day is here. Relax and enjoy a beautiful day!

FAQ

A common misconception is that costumers pay for the hours I’m at the event and for the photos itself. In reality there’s work up front and after the shoot as well. Most shoots require at least one meeting to make sure we’re on the same page and deciding on what’s most important for you. If applicable travel and accommodations is bundled in the total prize. File transfers, making selections, editing, exporting and delivering a curated gallery is where the bulk of the extra work lies.

I’ll send you a quote that you’ll need to agree to and also a contract which outlines any and all specifics related to the services I provide. This is for both of ours sake. You’ll know exactly what to expect, what you’ll get delivered and when.

The amount of delivered images will vary depending on how many hours I’ll be at your wedding/event. However as a rule of thumb I’ll deliver 35-50 edited images per hour spent shooting. I will however value quality over quantity and I’ll never send pretty much the same picture just a millisecond later just to deliver a certain amount.

In the case where I’m so ill that I can’t follow through with shooting your wdddin/event I’ll get you a replacement photographer. In best case scenario I’ll get you a photographer that has a similar style to mine, but my network of photogs is excellent regardless of personal style.

Generally I’ll make an artistic decision when I’m editing if an image should be in colour or black & white. Sometimes I’ll deliver in both colour and black & white and sometimes I’ll just deliver one or the other for a specific image. Depending on our agreement there’s a chance to get an alternative edit on a select amount of photos.

When the editing is done you’ll get link to a password protected gallery where you can browse the photos in a beautiful setting. This is also where you download your images.

DO YOU SHOOT FILM?

I sure do!
I always like to carry a 35mm film camera with me, regardless of what I’m shooting that day. For weddings I typically shoot one roll of film throughout the day, this is generally 36 frames of either black & white or color film. This is something I do as an extra service that I don’t charge for. Because of that I don’t guarantee any film-images, if we’re short on time on the day I’ll take less or no images, and if there’s plenty of time I’ll take more. If you’re interested in more film photography and less digital photos please let me know and we’ll sort out a way to make that happen!
